Local Home Health Care Referral Service’s Community Service Project Comes to a Successful Close

Florida residents know that even our timid winters can be cold and taxing. For the Sunshine State’s oldest citizens, our low temperatures can feel exceptionally intense. Tapping into the holiday spirit in the air, Granny NANNIES, a Longwood-based national home health care referral service, hosted a blanket drive for seniors in need of a little extra warmth.

Collecting for Osceola, Orange and Seminole counties, Granny NANNIES was able to draw in over six dozen blankets throughout the drive’s two-month span. The stockpile of lap blankets, throws and quilts will bring comfort and warmth to Hospice of the Comforter and Florida Living Nursing Center residents.

“Thank you to all the people and organizations that donated to our first annual blanket drive. We could not have lifted the health and spirits of our community’s seniors this holiday season without your help,” said Granny NANNIES CEO Robert Hodgson. “Another extra thank you to the people and organizations that helped spread the word. We look forward to working together on another successful drive and hope to double our numbers for Central Florida’s seniors in 2016.”
